All it takes is one idea for you to create a breakthrough! Back in 2008 I was introduced to the idea of using webinars to grow my business and initially I resisted it. I resisted it simply because it was a new technology to me and it was out of my comfort zone. I couldn’t deny the benefits. At that point in my business, because of all the things that happened in the global economy, I really felt it was adapt or die. So I faced my resistance and I started doing webinars. I’ve generated thousands of leads, hundreds of appointments and millions of dollars in sales using webinars!
In this article I am going to talk about four different applications of webinars. This article could create a breakthrough for you, and today you could make a decision that you’re going to start incorporating webinars, or if you’re already using webinars incorporating them at a higher level. The four types of webinar we’re going to talk about today are:
- One-on-one webinars
- Group webinars
- Automated webinars
- On-demand webinars
Some of the benefits of doing one-on-one webinars are you don’t have to put on a suit or makeup, you don’t have to put any gas in your car and there’s no travel time. Our culture has embraced webinars. So if you live in Los Angeles it’s a way for you to have a sales call with somebody in San Diego without having to fight three hours of traffic, or Florida for that matter, or Australia for that matter. Think about how could you use one-on-one webinars to replace some of your face-to-face appointments.
The second type of webinar is a group webinar. When you do group webinars you can sync up the webinar with your database. What that means is if I do a webinar and somebody’s promoting it to their database they will tell their people, “Eric’s doing a webinar. If you want to register, click here now.” They click there; it takes them to my website. If they opt-in for the webinar that lead is now in my database. So not only do I have a webinar registration, but I also have a lead that I can market to in the future. Those leads are golden to me. Now you’re positioned as an expert with those leads because you’re delivering the webinar. On that webinar you can offer a free consultation or you can sell a product or service, depending on what types of products and services you sell. For example, if you’re a real estate agent you wouldn’t sell a listing on a webinar, you’d sell a consultation. If you’re in the training industry like me you might sell the training, or if you’re the software industry you might sell the software at the end of the presentation.
An automated webinar is a webinar that plays like a movie in a movie theater. Think about going to the movies. The movie might start at 2 o’clock, 4 o’clock, 6 o’clock or 8 o’clock. You would select the time and that movie’s going to play at a set time. Automated webinars play recorded webinars at a set time like a movie. There’s very inexpensive software that you can purchase. So you literally in some examples you could have a webinar running every hour on the hour 24/7 generating leads for you and generating appointments or sales.
The last type of webinar I want to talk about is an on-demand webinar. Think of Netflix. You go to Netflix, you pick the movie you want to watch and you can watch it on demand. Well, you can have a webinar play on demand, so when you’re prospecting somebody and they express interest you might send them a link to an on-demand webinar. That’s a link that you could text them, or email them or direct message them on social media.
The ideas they’re really only limited by your imagination. What I can tell you is I’m somebody who used to resist webinars. I now embrace them, and they’re a core part of my business strategy and they generate millions of dollars in revenue for me. If you haven’t done webinars before I encourage you to try, and if you are already doing them I encourage you to look for even more ways that you can use webinars.
