Let me begin by sharing with you why I am so passionate about sales scripting. Let me take you back to December of 1993. I was finishing up my first year working at First Hybrid Corporation. My role was inside sales person. The problem was I was not good at it. I had just missed my quota 2 months in a row. The quota was $10,000 in gross sales. My manager Richard Hogan called me into his office to inform me I had 1 more month to hit my quota or I would be fired. (When Richard reads this and finds out I am one of the world’s leading sales experts he will be shocked)
If I was going to keep my job I had to learn how to sell fast. I started looking for answers. By fate, destiny, luck or prayer, I was introduced to the world’s greatest sales mind. His name is Dr. Donald Moine. Dr. Moine had spent the previous decade studying sales from a scientific point of view. Dr. Moine discovered that sales superstars used sales scripts. I began to apply Dr. Moine’s techniques during my sales calls. That month I did $10,500 in gross sales making my quota by a single sale. My friend, Anthony, was on quota probation with me. Most people I meet resist scripts. They resist them because they think a script is canned, rehearsed, mechanical, reading from a page, etc. Although this is what most people think when they think of a script, this is not a script.
You are either using a script or speaking in gibberish. And you don’t speak in gibberish. Gibberish is random words or word salad. Here is an example of gibberish. Up, floor, carpet, television, computer, blue. You don’t speak in random words.
Because a script is words in sequence that have meaning, it is not a question of whether or not you are using a script. The question is how effective your scripts are.
At this point I expect you are open to the idea of scripting. In fact I expect you are excited about implementing powerful scripts into your presentations. I have been in this sales conversation for 17 years. I have learned over 1,000 ideas. Sales scripting is the most profitable idea I have ever learned!
The big idea about sales scripting is when you have an effective script you will close more sales, have a higher close ratio, make more money, be more confident and have peace of mind knowing you can consistently close sales.
Right now many people are in fear about the economy. Sales scripts can help reduce or eliminate fear of not making sales. Honestly, if I didn’t know sales scripting right now I would be afraid because of the downturn in the economy.

After you have determined which script you want to write, your first step in writing a script, is to make a laundry list of script ingredients: benefits, objections, stories, probing questions and offer.
So you would make a laundry list of benefits, a laundry list of objections, a laundry list of stories, probing questions and offer. When you train with me I will teach you in depth exactly how to do this. For example, once you have determined which stories you are going to tell, then you need to determine where in the presentation you will put each story.
